Summit welcomes youth from ages 16-22 to participate in the winterguard. Students who are currently enrolled in high school may not participate in Summit Winterguard if their school has an active winterguard program. Although we are based in the Portland/Vancouver Area we welcome members from all areas of the Northwest including Seattle, Salem, Eugene, Tri-Cities, and Spokane.

Rehearsals:

The winterguard rehearses on weekends during the late fall and winter. Most rehearsals are based in the Portland/Vancouver Metro Area.

Tuition and Fees:

Tuition for the 2011 season were set at $950. This includes transportation, show fees, rehearsal fees, uniforms, and equipment costs. This does not include airfare to WGI Championships. There is an additional fee of $30 for anyone who auditions for Summit. Numerous fundraisers are offered to pay for plane tickets to WGI Championships in Dayton. All members are expected to participate in all group fundraisers. If our goal is not met, or if members do not participate in fundraisers, they must pay for their ticket to Dayton. A payment schedule is used to help members pay their tuition in a reasonable amount of time. All tuition and fees must be collected by March 13. If full payment is not received, a late fee of $150 will be assessed.

Fundraisers:

Our fundraisers are designed to pay for each member’s airfare to WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio. Money received through fundraising is distributed to members who participate in each fundraiser. All members are required to participate in order to maximize the profit from fundraising events. Our goal is to pay the airfare cost for each member in full. If the goal is not met, it is the responsibility of the performer to pay the remainder of the cost.
